MyOdds is an entertainment app for joke betting lines among friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to control it. Plain English.
1. What we collect
Device identifier. A random UUID generated on first launch and stored on your device. This is how Crews recognize you as a member. It is not tied to your name, email, Apple ID or Google account. The Android app does not yet include Crews, so it does not create or send one.
The bet you type. The scenario you enter is sent to our server to be priced, and the wording is not stored against you afterwards. Bet history. The questions you type, the AI-generated odds, and any wins/losses you mark — all stored locally on your device.
Crew data. If you join a Crew, your display name, your locked-in bets, and your prediction votes are stored on our server so other Crew members can see them.
Anonymous usage metrics. We log basic events (bets generated, app opens, ads watched) to understand product usage. No personally identifying info.
Advertising identifiers.iOS only. If you allow tracking via the Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt, Google AdMob may use your IDFA to serve more relevant ads. You can decline and the app still works. The Android app shows no ads and uses no advertising identifier.
2. What we do NOT collect
Your name, email, phone number, or address

Your voice — speech recognition runs fully on-device via Apple's Speech framework

3. Third parties
Anthropic (Claude) — third-party AI service. To generate your odds and commentary, the scenario text you type or speak is sent to Anthropic, PBC's "Claude" AI through our backend server. This is the only data shared with Anthropic — we send no name, email, contacts, location, or device ID, so it is not linked to your identity. We ask for your permission in the app, before any text is sent, the first time you generate odds (and you can review this any time in Settings → "How MyOdds uses AI"). Anthropic processes the text solely to return a result and, per its policy, does not use API inputs to train its models; it provides protections substantially equivalent to those described here. Apple StoreKit. Handles in-app purchases. Apple's privacy practices: apple.com/legal/privacy
Fly.io. Hosts our backend server. They process API requests but do not analyze content.
4. Your controls
Clear history. Settings → Clear history wipes all local bets.
Leave a Crew. Crew → Leave crew removes your data from that Crew's server record.
Decline tracking. When the App Tracking Transparency prompt appears, choose "Ask App Not To Track" — ads stay, they're just non-personalized.
Delete the app. Uninstalling MyOdds removes all local data. Crew membership stays until you tap "Leave crew" or all members leave.
5. Children
MyOdds is intended for adults. Age ratings differ by store and region, so we do not quote one here. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
6. Changes
If we change this policy materially, we'll update the date at the top and bump the in-app version.
